13BT water temp switch?

Hi there,

My first post here - been a guest many times.
I have a TLC BJ73 (1985) with a transplanted 13BT motor.

Just behind the temperature sender is what looks like another sender or switch.
Mine is corroded and not connected. The temp gauge works fine and the thermostat must open as the radiator gets hot.

I just need to know what this is and if it's important.

I think it is for the glow system, mine only glows when it is really really cold, no problem in QLD.
