13bt oil pressure (1 Viewer)

Hello, I have a 1989 BJ74 13bt, love it but overnight the oil pressure had spiked to 600kpa (87psi) I have a vdo oil pressure gauge that has been very reliable. Before I take it to the mechanic is there anything I can do first? Any help is much appreciated.

Don’t know about a 13BT but the 2H/12HT have an oil pressure regulator thing that looks like a 22 bullet casing. These tend to make a groove in the hole they slide in which then makes them stick.
