The 3b one isn't soo simple as you need a "transmitter" from the bellhousing. Possible you could just buy a diesel tach from Autometer or such that runs on the alt signal. I have seen on here one dude had one in the centre where the normal tack sits, perfect install. Maybe others remember who was the guy.

I personnaly would look aftermarket. But hey IMOP only, as I have not done a convo. G-luck.
