12v brake controller on a 24v HJ60

how do I hook up the 12v brake trigger wire on a trailer brake controller, to the 24v brake system on my HJ60?

I've never done it, but can't you just wire the controller to one battery (the one with the ground to the frame)? Although, I don't know what you would do with the brake peddle stop light switch, perhaps a 24v relay?
