I had the same problem when i drove my 42 with the M101 trailer down to NH. The floor was HOT...i mean really hot, i couldn't keep my hand on the steel portion of the shifter.
But i couldn't convince myself the tranny only was running hot. My guess and i still beleive so. is that the radiator and fan is doing its job and the air blown by the fan is pushed down the firewall and to the floor and get everything dam hot.
I started to have this hot issue after replacing my clutch fan, that is why i think that it is just radiator hot air causing this. Obviously after the clutch fan the engine doesn't run hot anymore. But oh boy does the floor become hot.
