ok guys here is what i found out. i took the rear shaft off to drive it just with the front shaft, but my transfer case was already locked in, i feel like a complete idiot. the problem now is that i can engage the 4wd with the button but can not disengage when i push the button in the off position. if i get out and reverse the vacumm lines it will disengage. what do i have wired wrong? or is it the actual switch itself.
Rutbeer and VTcruiser i should have double checked it before like yall said but nothing in the truck was indicating it was in 4wd.
That looks great. Always loved the silver 60's
it runs very smooth now, has plenty of power i am very pleased with it. how have you been and how is the rig doing.?
It's running well. I just replaced the glow plugs in preparation for winter and cold starts are a lot easier now. Other than that, i've just been driving it and it's been great.
You have glow plugs? I have a 12H-T (recent conversion) and it's got the glowscreen.
What has your experience been with cold starting and at what temps? I've noticed with mine there is quite a bit of smoke, some missing when stepping on the throttle just after starting, and sometimes I need to goose the throttle just after turning it over to keep it running. This is while in temps of 45 or lower. Over that and it fires right up and stays lit without me stepping on the pedal.
Other than that mine runs great and feels really strong. Wondering if I just need to run some injector cleaner through or something.
Great looking cruiser. I like the way it's looking so far. BTW, is that a Nissan D21 Pickup I detect in the background of one of the photos? Can't wait to hear how it works on the trail.
