oh yeah i know where that is . i was going to take the rear shaft off and dirve with only the front shaft to see if the problem is coming from the rear we will see what happens then.

ok guys here is what i found out. i took the rear shaft off to drive it just with the front shaft, but my transfer case was already locked in, i feel like a complete idiot. the problem now is that i can engage the 4wd with the button but can not disengage when i push the button in the off position. if i get out and reverse the vacumm lines it will disengage. what do i have wired wrong? or is it the actual switch itself.

Rutbeer and VTcruiser i should have double checked it before like yall said but nothing in the truck was indicating it was in 4wd.

can you explain exactly how you have it wired? Sounds like the "off" vsv is not getting power.

the off vsv is shot. will be replacing it with another also picked up a kaymar bumper. getting it powder coated, will have install pics

i decided to put a manual kill on my truck. i have done the same with my bj40 and i came to my advantage when my alternator went out. now i can run the truck if needed without the help of a battery. here is a pick of the kill switch, i am not to happy with how big it is but it works. looking for some fittings so i can put my choke pull on it .

also waiting on a vsv to come in and my transfer case will work as it should. the truck runs very strong and doesnt loose power in the hills. i am very pleased with it so far. in the works are painted factory wheels, kaymar rear bumper, and some odd and end stuff from a parts truck 62 i have.

That looks great. Always loved the silver 60's

it runs very smooth now, has plenty of power i am very pleased with it. how have you been and how is the rig doing.?

It's running well. I just replaced the glow plugs in preparation for winter and cold starts are a lot easier now. Other than that, i've just been driving it and it's been great.

You have glow plugs? I have a 12H-T (recent conversion) and it's got the glowscreen.

What has your experience been with cold starting and at what temps? I've noticed with mine there is quite a bit of smoke, some missing when stepping on the throttle just after starting, and sometimes I need to goose the throttle just after turning it over to keep it running. This is while in temps of 45 or lower. Over that and it fires right up and stays lit without me stepping on the pedal.

Other than that mine runs great and feels really strong. Wondering if I just need to run some injector cleaner through or something.

Yeah, I've got a 1HZ with plugs. If it's cold mine will smoke and run a little rough like you describe but smooths out quickly with the plugs on. In the past I have started mine below freezing without a block heater, though not easily. This will be the first winter with the fuel heater so we'll see how much of a difference that will make.

Great looking cruiser. I like the way it's looking so far. BTW, is that a Nissan D21 Pickup I detect in the background of one of the photos? ;) Can't wait to hear how it works on the trail.

thank you. the nissan is not the diesel version but it does a great job for having close to 300,000 on it.

got the bumper painted and installed. that thing is very beefy and heavy. i tapped all the wires in to each taillight from each side. almost finished now after i rebuild the knuckles here are some pics of the bumper after install.
