12" rims

If you have a 12.5" tire you probably want an 8" rim so you don't blow the bead to easy. I've heard that combo will make the center of the tire wear out fast (maybe?). I have access to a free set of 12" wheels. It is going to be my daily driver but would go off-road maybe once or twice a month. Should I go with the wider rims or just stick with the 8's I have? Well... I want to get 8's with a bigger offset though.

i would say score the 12 inch rims and keep them around for the day that you runs 44x16 wide boggers
oh, and in all seriousness, 12.5 wide tires on a 12 inch rims isnt a good idea, since the 12 inch rim is pretty close to 12 inches wide, whereas the tire that says its 12.5 wide is actually more like 10-11 wide....it just straight up isnt a good idea in my opinion.

Wide rims get chewed up really easy on the trail. Probably OK for street driven rigs though.
