I am participating in a unique event called the 100 Wave Challenge to support the Boys to Men mentoring network Boys To Men Mentoring Network on September 24th and thought there might be some more surfers on this board interested in joining in the fun. The idea is to catch 100 waves in a 12 hour period while raising money and attention for a great cause. There will be food provided by the Soup Plantation and Rubio's and even massages later to keep you limber.

The Boys to Men mentoring network works with the 33% of fatherless boys ages 13 - 17 to become responsible young men through a mentoring and support network. Kind of like Big Brother only there is more emphasis on a group of men to support the boys through activities and a yearly camping outing.

Here is a link to some of the boys and their stories What do the boys say about Boys to Men? | Videos.

If you want to participate just shoot me a pm and I will fill you in on the details. If you can't participate but still want to support the boys here is a link to my pledge page https://100wavechallenge.dojiggy.co...817646473701100707A1304452459440F7C7E78020372 where you can make a tax deductible donation.

Each $500 raised supports one boy for a year. I've raised enough to support 2 boys and met my goal but think I should be able to raise enough to support 1 or 2 more by the day of the event.

Man, Good for you on all counts. Not only are you doing a good deed, but that is ALOT of waves to catch in 1 day, no mattter how small and crappy it may be that day. Good luck.

Thanks James! Should be a long day but will feel real good when I get the 100 Waves.

Been doing wave counts during sessions and can catch about 30-35 in 2 hours with a consistent swell on a beach break.
