03cruiser, clearance with a 33 tire is not a problem, even without a lift, I have 285/75/16 BFG AT and they do not have any clearance issues. Now if you are planning on lift and big tires, I assume you're planning in doing some trails/ off-road driving; you will be better of changing the rim size to 16" to have more sidewall, it's better for airing down, and will help avoid damaging your wheels, additionally, you will have more options on tires and they will likely be less expensive than 17's or 18's
 
Call Cristo Slee and/or email Alan on this email. There is nothing wrong with building a 100 and taking it off-road. They are as if not more capable than an 80, take advice from someone who has both. Aside from the chopped off back ours really isn't that modified, less than any of our 80s and it did amazing! Also Alan loves big wheels you might want to talk to him. And as far as dents go if you have the right bars/bumpers no worries.
