Reduced reflection from the sun on long distance driving.

Hm, OK. I'd rather get blind from sun reflection than disgrace my car in such a cruel way :D

Gotcha. That is why I wanted a removalable sticker.

I will GLADLY disgrace my rig, as long as it works :D

Besides...My 100 is so beat-up, it would problably inprove the looks of mine ;p

Actually, I was already planning on either rattle-canning my hood flat-black or taking a 3M pad to the whole thing in order to reduce the glare from roof mounted lights that I will be adding soon.

Come on guys... how bad could it actually look ?

1. Huh, black out hood...just the idea sounds awful ;p Could look good in a LR Defender, maybe, but not in a 100.

It looks pretty good on a Discovery too. I had a 96 Eco Challenge Disco for a couple years that had a black decal on the hood. I agree with you; I don't think I would put one on a 100 though. The 100 just seems too refined for a hood decal, but who knows it might look good. Somebody throw one on and then we can all decide if it looks good or not. It sounds like SinCity's about ready. :)

HD control arms

I built a set of Heavy duty lower control arms. I will post up some pics and specs when I get home.

What's the purpose of these things, other than (dubious) aesthetics? The only one I can see is for reducing reflections from the hood if you are using roof headlights.

The black out is primarily for running the roof lights. I used to have a white trooper with 4 100watt lights on the safari rack. The white hood was very distracting on night runs.

That's what I got. It didn't hold climbing a ledge (3 feet tall) on one wheel and 1.5 foot ledges on the other 2 wheels. Hop hop = bend.

The angle iron on the bottom works well as a slider. Its prevents tube from getting flat spots when hammereb by the rocks. You can add some c-channel to the top to reduce chances of bending the arms.

2. Has anyone replaced the rear carpet panel on the lower tailgate with something more durable? Cordura or metal or something?

A company in OZ makes stainless steel replacement tailgate covers for the 100, I expect a small strength gain of the tailgate would be achieved. Cant think of who at the moment, maybe Black Widow. I want to replace mine with that poly material that kitchen chopping boards are made of, doesn't get hot like stainless steel.
