$1,500 Cruiser with Engine Knock (1 Viewer)

A 96 FJZ80 is for sale in my local town. Which is why it's so enticing. 160K Miles. Body and Frame in good shape. Minimal Rust.

Distinct knocking sound coming from engine though. Head gasket I'm assuming?

Some pretty good oil leaking going on.

Knuckles are very grimy.

I'll post the few pictures I took below and try to put up the video of the knocking noise. $1,500 seems reasonable to me with the fixes it is going to need. Hopefully will all be done by myself and other Cruiser heads who are willing to lend a hand for free beer and pizza.

You need to go one more on the list and hit the 80 series forum

knuckles look ok, check grease. rear main seal needs work, looks sloppy. knocking may have you going to a rebuild or a different engine.
at 1500... it's a good start as any. good luck. any get the thread changed to the 80 series forum.

Hummm seems too wide and round to be a 70.
