History- About 6 months ago my VSC lights came on. Truck ran great so just ignored it as i didn't have time to dive into it. About 3 months ago the check engine light came on and around the same time noticed the tach and oil gauges were not not working. All other gauges worked fine. i read the codes and it looked like the bank 2
O2 sensor was the issue. Replaced the O2 sensor and the front sensor for good measure. check engine light was still there even after disconnecting the battery. I haven't had time to look further.

Fast forward 2 months later and i turn the key and notice the check engine light and vsc lights are all gone AND the both gauges now working??????

This morning the lights are still off but the gauges are back to not working again. WTF is going on? Are any of these things related? It would appear there is some connection.

the engine light goes out on it's own after a certain # of cycles if the fault condition is no longer present.
I think your gauge issue is unrelated to that , that is most likely the stepper motors failing in it.

i thought it was the stepper motors also and had planned on fixing those but it seems weirdly coincidental especially since both appeared to start working at exactly the same instance.

yeah ive had some issues with that in the past but not recently. New twist- The engine light and VSC lights stayed off but the tach and oil pressure stopped working. Fast forward went on a grocey run with the kiddos and the tach and oil pressure started working again as if nothing wrong. There is no bouncing or any weird movement. They seemed to work like they should?????

Seem like a connection issue??? why would only those two not be working. All the other dash lights and gauges work fine.

Try to connect the issues with the weather conditions, or just check for water leak onto engine ECU. Typical symptoms.

the tach and oil pressure seem to be fine now. they have been inop for a couple months. only change is slightly warmer temps.
