Ok crew, here we go.
Feb 2023 my fuel pump failed and was replaced. Fuel filter also replaced at the same time. Everything was good until the fall, when I started getting intermittent longer crank cycles before the LC would start. It would always start, but, the starter would cycle longer and sometimes it would sputter to life.
Fast forward April 2024. Took a very overloaded LC on a 6 hour away camping trip and ran the absolute piss out of it, using all top tier fuels. The problem went away for 6 months. I assumed it was fuel related. Not a single long crank cycle from April -October. Now, it’s back. Here’s the symptoms: cold start—free right up. Hot start—fires right up. If the truck sits for 1 to 4 hours—long crank cycle. If the truck sits 5 or more hours, it will start as normal. The ONLY change made (I’ve run all top tier fuels since) is that Maryland has switched over to running winter blend fuel. Any thoughts?
