I have a 02 chevy with 5.3 one day runs great next will hardly drag it self down the street! I have a scanner and i get a po300 code random misfire. I've changed coils,plugs,wires fuel filters. Anyone have this problem BAD fuel smell out the tail pipe but when its running good dont smell!? HELP!!!

Still need to test that but the move is taking up alot of my time.

In my 02 there is a electrical connector that is downstream of the airfilter in the intake system. If it gets bumped or partially knocked loose the rig will not have any power. It will run but not have any power. I plug it back in the truck runs great. I now just double check it when I replace the air filter.

The mass air flow? I took that off and cleaned it and run it on the scanner it seams to be wroking.

I found it..... The main plug to the coils on the driver side was bad.
