Hello y’all, writing that from the center of the valley…
Long story short, while attempting to replace what appears to be the original starter of my ‘01 lx470, I had to pry off the starter from the block due to corrosion and now the rear part of the starter is broken off inside the starter bore. I’ve tried giving some love taps with a hammer and chisel/punch, some heat, have drenched in blaster for 3 days straight and I have nothing to show for the effort. Any tips or tricks for those who have run across this would be much appreciated!

Also, what is your go to procedure for cleaning debris from bell housing/flywheel as I likely have some?

If you have a friend with an induction heater, ask to borrow it, they work wonders. If not, saw a slit in the piece until you reach the block, that should release the pressure / allow penetrating oil to flow in.
For small pieces that fall in, remove the inspection plate at the bottom for a few days. My starter broke apart and the ball bearings fell inside, I removed the plate and after a few days I stopped worrying and put the cover back and have had no issues.
