Old Man Emu Lift works Great - in fact Awesome ! Where to get yours -

Yesterday we installed the OME lift and I've had time to get a good feel of how it handles. On the street, it still has the smooth ride from factory - ZERO comfort was lost. It corners about (my estimate) 30% better than it did before. Feels like it corners on rails and stays level on corners at 15-25mph.
I'll be testing the flex and do some moderate off roading this weekend.

I've received a few emails about where to get the OME lift -

Butch Baker (Baker Tire of Bonham, Texas) (texican on this forum) is the best contact. For those of you that already know him, then what I'm about to say is old news, but...he's one of the country's most competent resources on cruisers and has all the tools, parts, and years of experience to back it up.
His alliance with Toyota and their Off Road Specialists and Toyota Parts allows him to be the first on the list for many demos and hard to find kits, etc... He can get you the kit you want for prices that a working man can afford.
If he can't get it, he can definately send you directly to the person that can.
If you want this lift, contact Butch at: butchbaker@cableone.net

NEXT PROJECT - As soon as it arrives: ARB Bumper with WARN 9.5 ti winch with off road lights :flipoff2:

AFTER the Lift at my old gas museum (working shop)

New suspension feels great, corners better and still rides smooth on the street (which means the wife said I can keep it)
Just absolutely GORGEOUS!

I also really like your steps as well. I haven't seen those on any FJC out here in CA!

Congratulations again on the FJC, and keep them pictures coming!

Thanks

Thanks Chris -
Sorry you couldn't make it out -
The install went smooth, thanks to expert you (Toyota of Dallas) sent down working alongside Butch (Texican) and the Landcruiser gurus from Baker Tire.
I'll be looking for the article -

Aside from the performance improvement, it just looks freakin awesome.

I can't wait until that ARB bumper comes in -

Thanks Again for everything !
You guys are awesome

If you dont mind what did the whole lift cost out the door installed ? Looks good by the way

Do you have any pics of flexing it out at all yet?? Various pics I have seen of FJs articulation has really turned me off to them thus far, even AllPro's lifted one looked weak as far as flex goes. PLEASE post some pics flexing the OME... if it looks a little better than the past pics I have seen I might reconsider an FJ.

OME Kit - Price out the door

Texican and the crew and Baker Tire (Bonham, Texas - North of Dallas) is installing them for $1500 plus a little tax - out the door.

Mike, I'll just add that for those out of the area, the whole setup is available for shipping as well.

Simply email info@trdparts4u.com or info@toyotapartsales.com for information.

The kit is available by itself, or in conjunction with the ARB Bumper and the FJC specific IPF lighting at unbeatable pricing (if you can wait just a bit). :)

What does the kit consist of? Could you give a detailed list? Is this the kit that will be offered through Toyota from ARB?

Since we are not a vendor on this forum, I'd prefer to privately discuss each person's specific situation with them. I'd also prefer not to publicly disclose our research at this time.

To my knowledge, as of now Toyota is not planning to offer this, or any future suspension setup from ARB... your ARB dealer is the source for suspension components.

This is also not a kit offered by ARB- This lift is being offered based on research by users and innovators. Neither us (Toyota of Dallas or Butch Baker) nor ARB USA makes any warranty on the applicability of these components on FJ Cruisers. We make no warranty as to applicability. The kit comes unassembled. Our lawyers make us say all that. :)

You have PM.

Understood, thanks for the reply..Got the info...

OME 885/895's or 884/895's (896's are heavier rear coils ) OME 140s/142 shocks or 141's in the rear, which are softer shocks

885's up front will be better if you are putting a ARB bullbar on it.

Another option-
Donahoe coilovers up front, custom deaver rear coils, bilstien 5100 or 7100's custom valved

Sway-away has 2.0 and 2.5 coilovers

you can move to uniball uca's if you want to beef up the front (total chaos)

There aren't a ton of options yet but more seem to be coming to market. Donahoe had a wicked looking uca that they were coming out with (don't think it is anymore due to cost?)

If anyone in socal is in need, I'll help pop in a suspension and we can zip up to Rowher and flex it out :D

Sleeoffroad.com is the best. Ben knows his stuff.
They pioneered this kit in the USA
