I was thinking about painting my factory soft top b/c my truck is white so the whole white on white thing wasnt working for me. Rather then doing that i wanted to see if I could cover the cost of one of eshan's tops and bows by selling my whole set of original soft top, soft doors and bows. Dont eshan's top come with bow's anyway? i run hard doors or no doors so my soft doors just sit in the garage unused.
I also have the soft door hinges b/c they dont work with the regular hinges. The top is in good condition as are the softdoors, bows and hardware. Any thoughts?

Might help to post where you are located...

I'm at school in Philly but live in Northern NJ, I'm back and fourth.

pics?

I'll give you $200 for the package. :-)

depending on the condition of the OEM soft doors,$100-200-ish

OEM bows, I would keep them and use the Paki canvas. If you sell, $350-500 for the bows, they are a bitch(read spendy) to ship.

OEm canvas......no clue, if perfect...maybe $500, I have never seen anyone sell the OEM canvas, so I am just guessing.

Package, if all parts are close to perfect(which being from the east I kinda doubt) $1000-1200

are you SURE your canvas is OEM, it might not be.

If you decide to get a canvas from eshan you can buy extra material to recover the doors to match top. I agree with Landpimp hold on the bows if they are in good condition.

Ehsan's "canvas" is vinyl, unlike the OEM. I don't know yet if it shrinks more or less than the OEM stuff with weather change.

i dont ahve pics opn hand, the one thing i can say is that the windows on the top are larger and one peice on the side as opposed to the double window on the replica paki tops but i have also read that the eshan's tops are model of earlier soft tops, mine is a '70. If anyone has the LandCruiser Gold Portfolio i believe that might have pics(my copy is at home). The bows are in good shape. The doors are in very good shape. The top if fine except for one spot about 2"x3" on the side that was patched using the material that came with the top.

Just out of curiosity, if i got one of Eshan's tops, which come with bows why would i want to save the old bows?

I doubt you could cover the cost of a new top by selling your old one. Eshan's bows come in pieces IIRC. You would have to piece them together. If eshan's tops are made from OEM bows as a pattern you should be able to use your old bows. I sure he sells the canvas minus the bows. I know Speciality Top Co makes the canvas for the OEM bows too. They bought out KayLine Tops. The KayLine tops were only available in black or white but I think STC will make them in all the colors they have.

Any pics? I have a Paki top and it's been great except for the quality of all the hardware - all the buckles and metal bits installed on the top are krap, replaced the twisties from the get go - ehsan admits this, give him credit. Ehsan did include extra material for my doors.

I had the frame powder coated - so that was an extra expense, but necessary for South Florida (note: to anyone who does this do the obvious and connect the hoops before powder coating ;-).

The OEM doors I have are basket cases and I have yet to refurbish - althought the recent TT was inspirational.

In summary - I've got about $1,100 into the top/doors and have yet to replace the hardware on the canvas and redo the doors.

Don't know if this helps or not, but if I had a chance to buy an OEM canvas with good condition doors I would have done that.

junglejim - you have a pm
