I much prefer the look of the '06 headlights over these but I thought I would post them anyway. Whether they are HID or not, I do not know.

Hoser,

What changed on the 06 headlights?

someone had to say it, so I will: the lights might be cool for some ($5 bulbs work fine for me and are cheaper to replace), but the amount of bling-bling on that 100 makes me more than a little queasy!

Notice anything different? Still not HID but they are one piece for a cleaner looking design.

Those '06 headlight kinda look similar to the infiniti's QX56's HID's. I still like the LC's light. Toyota should make them HID's since you are paying close to $60k for the truck. Then again, Once an HID light goes out, you have to shell out big $$$

The 2nd HID pictured looks good. Where can I get one?

Errrr....

I could get these if any of you bling wannabe's want them...

They are most likely made in Taiwan and usually the fit and finish are not as good as OEM's (Read: Caulk it!). They do come with angel eyes and use 55w H1 bulbs for both high and low beams. The upper part houses four 5w bulbs. You should be able to use your current OEM harness.

The low beam projector lighting pattern will be that of RHD vehicles. With normal aftermarket, such as Hella, etc... projectors can be disassembled and the inner shield/shade could be moved so swapping between RHD and LHD is easy, but I have no idea how these are set up as I've never purchased them.

Maybe I should as I have not dealt with too many 100 parts, yet. :grinpimp:

I'm interested because 1) I have a TRD supercharger and I don't want any HID lamps on my bumper that would block airflow to the radiator; 2) I can't put those extra lights on the roof, as garage roofs on the malls here in the Philippines barely just fit my UZJ-100's height.

Even the redesigned '06 hilux surf (4Runner) now has projector lamps (plus rear LED tail lamps like the '06 LC).

Drexx,

i think i know who r u. Haha newer know this is such a small world. I wanted to email u some other day ago abt this website but i jz realize u r some senior here. Hehehe nice to meet u here again. I wonder do u know me. TRD Supercharger freak... fr M'sia. Ring your bell?

if you find out about the RHD to LHD swap let me know... I would like to have projectors so that I can do a HID kit someday.

I've sent a pair to Australia recently and the total cost was over $800!

Those lights, for some reason, are much more than the 80 series for some reason and from what I hear, they don't fit that well/easily, either.

Phil,

As far as I know these lights are for the RHD (right-hand drive) and you guys in France drive on the wrong side of the road driving on the right side of the road with steering on the left (LHD). Then these would not work. But I have also heard somewhere that these were originally designed/marketed for LHD. So what do I know? :D

Please allow me to hear back from the Australian fellow about the lights and see what he says the light pattern is (for LHD or RHD) and let you know.

Also, these are NOT HID, btw! If I've mislead you in anyway, please accept my apologies.

Sincerely,

Mot
