1987 FJ60
I am the third owner of this all original, unmodified, classic vehicle. It has been lightly used and never off road. The mileage is correct (143K) and the car has always been garaged. I have owned the vehicle for 5 yrs and have driven it for about 15K miles and it has been incredible. It drives and handles like new. I will describe the car in as much detail as I can. I also have many photos to show of this all original classic SUV.
BODY is in good condition especially for being 20 yrs old. The paint shows no fading of any kind and shines like it was new. It has some rust on the front left panel and rear right panel. There are no dings or dents. The rest of the body is in excellent condition.
ENGINE the car runs like it’s new. No smoke. The oil pan was replaced with new in 2002. I have never added a drop of oil in between oil changes. The original owners, as well as I, have changed the oil every 3-4K miles. New fan installed in 2006. Jim Chenoweth rebuilt the carburetor in 2002.
4 speed transmission. 2nd owner replaced Master Cylinder prior to sale.
INTERIOR excellent condition. Only typical stuff on the corner of the right front and rear seat (see photos). The carpet is in very good condition, but does show some very minor wear in the rear cargo area. The dash is perfect. The headliner is completely in tact with no stains (original) and no sagging. All gauges work and dash buttons work. Non-Smoking vehicle.
MECHANICALS the car is in excellent condition, all original and unmodified. No shimmies, shakes or rattles. The air conditioning is ice cold.
GLASS windshield has a very small chip, but I wouldn’t change it out. It has not spread in the 5 yrs that I have owned the vehicle.
WHEELS good condition with many more miles remaining on BFGoodrich tires.
SUMMARY the car is not mint, but very, very good daily drive. It has been extremely well maintained and drives and looks like it’s new.
HISTORY - I purchased the vehicle in 2002 with 130K miles from the 2nd owner. I believe the vehicle has been in Central PA since original purchase as the 2nd owner purchased from a dealership in 1990 with 32K.
