So I have received a bunch of questions on the "bumper" I'm running and guys wanting to see pics, so to save the mass emails to multiples here are a few pics and some info.

So 1 day to Rubicon and no Front Bumper, What to DO??? Went by a construction sit we're building on a found a nice piece of 3x12.

I cut out 2 notches as per the thickness of the frame rails and made it a little tight to fit. braced the botton via 2 bolts on the FR through a 1/8 gauge stainless steel strip I screwed into the bottom of the bumper.

Angled the corns, painted it black, and put the ole MUD board name on it and it was time to go. Rust is no longer a problem, but termites might be. Don't know how long I'll keep it there, but I like the clearance in the front.

Yea Sam,the wood is pressure treated right. So it holds up better to the mosture& repels termites!
Your truck sits pretty high, but if you hit a rock w/ that bumper it would prob. crack bad.
I know you have 2-Rubithons under your belt! Did that bumper go both times?
Later,John

finaly an "ECO" alternative to the ARB!!!

fugly. yet.... somehow attractive

I'd worry about the wood breaking off in a collision, when you need it. I *think* that the steel would absorb more energy in an impact, but maybe not.

Interesting idea
