The metal tape makes life a lot easier...

The brackets on the back doors were a huge PITA even trying to drill them out.

What are you going to use? Durabak?

Does the metal tape help the liner adhere?

thanks.

The metal tape covers the holes after the flares are removed.

There are like 50 oval, round, and square holes left after all the mounting tabs are removed.

I picked up a gallon kit of roll on "Herculiner" which is just another bedliner brand like Durabak or Rhinoliner, etc.

Thanks! I'm going to do this soon, and metal tape sounds alot easier than bondo. I'm sick of my truck looking so holey.

Wow you are going to town!

Was the rub strip in the middle of the body part of the lower body trim you removed or is it separate? I want the door ding repeller.

If it's separate are you willing to sell it?

Thanks!

All below the black tape line was the factory LX flares...no rubber strip on the LX450s.

I kind of like the blue line...
leave it as is:D

Cody, did you manage to save any of the flare hardware? I broke a good many of them pulling my flares this weekend and I may want to put them back one depending on what Stuttgart quotes me to fill the holes. If you have any intact and want to get rid of them let me know.

I just remembered that we used Herculiner on a friend's Toyota Pickup bed. It worked well but he did not do much prep work. It is still looking good 3 years later in the places where he put some effort forth. In the other spots it has rubbed away.

Coat #1.....weeeeeeee

(Sidenote: Why did I not wear gloves? :crybaby: )

Are those black spots all over the driveway? If so, consider doing the next phase in the front yard. :D

haha, no drip spots... I do have a lot of tire marks on the driveway, but they always disappear when it rains or I spray down the driveway with the pressure washer.

Just finished 3 coats and removed the tape. A few tiny places to clean up in the corners but I like the look so far.

I like it. I would love to see a picture in the daytime from the angle of post #10.

ps Can't wait to put on my Lexus Trail Team sticker as well:grinpimp:

That looks way cool...I like

I let it all dry overnight.

I was a little worried since we are having some "Winds of DOOM!" out here in Northern AZ that there might be junk stuck in the liner. It was tacky like tar last night, but only 1 mosquito sized green bug that easily fell off.

The stuff is like rough sandpaper now, so I can just file down the bushes on the trails. :P

Where does one get the "Lexus Trail Team" sticker?

Tools R Us has them listed (IIRC, in the vendor section). I did a search this morning and sent him a PM. :bounce:

Is that your DD?
