what to pay for 89 fj62 ? LOTS OF NEW PICS

It looks okay with very little rust and a few small dents. It has a large roof rack and new tires. the interior is nice no rips and is clean. All the electronics work. The a/c isn't cold. The engine was ran w/o oil and is seized. It supposedly has a locker in the rear and comes with the stock lsd.
They want $1700. I offered $1000. Is that a reasonable offer or is it worth more or less?

I'll probably do a 350 conversion or something if I were to get it along with a 2.5" lift and call it a day.

I added a lot of pics, but would like some good evaluations before I get it, maybe tomorrow...Thanks.

Much better deal than what I saw this morning, about the same rig, but, with a 350 chevy engine, they wanted 7500 for it...had what they said was a new paint job, but, it was just paint over rust....

looks like yours would be a great candidate for a cheap buy and then a nice foundation to build on...

goodluck......

I'd try and stick it for 1k but if you have to pay 1200 I'd still say its worth it.

Dude, jump on that. 1k seems like a great price for this truck. Engines are cheap. Who knows, you might get lucky and discover they misdiagnosed it?

Anybody else think it looks possibly lifted already? Or SUPER small tires. I'd pay $1000 for it just for parts.

it looks lifted compared to my sagged 60

Yeah I thought that it was lifted too. Maybe 2" compaired to my 89.

A previous owner stuck in a rear locker, but I don't know what type it is. He also wheeled it so it may be lifted it measured 21" from the center of the hubs to the lowest part of the fenders in both the front and back. I have read that most cruisers measure around 18"-19"s. The current tires are worn out 235/??/15 on what look to be stock wheels. Approximately 27" tires I think.

It looks like the brakes are leaking fluid in the front and the axle seals or something may be wrong.

The bottom dollar the guy will take is $1200. I'll have to think about it. I can put an engine in it like I have in several other cars. It is just the time and effort finding one and doing the job.

I based the first post description off of the guys description over the phone which was inaccurate concerning the rust and dents, but the interior was better than I thought. I took the pictures.

the tires are definately not new

looks as if someone stuck an aftermarket tranny cooler on it wonder if the tranny was over heating or something.

passenger side front door is leaking water through the door onto the carpet near the seat.

the window lock switch is broken

rear tail light is broken

the front axle needs a rebuild
