I just had my ROAD ARMOR bumper installed.

I've been working with ROAD ARMOR for the past couple of months. (Really, I just let them use my FJ to mock their bumper up on.) But, it is finally done! I really like how it turned out. The bumper on their website is the original prototype so this one has been tweaked since then.

I installed the winch and I'm really happy with that as well. The bumper is designed for a face mount winch. I didn't realize this when I bought my WARN last month so I had to install a mounting bracket.

I took it out to the snow today. Here are a couple of pictures...

wow, I love it! That looks awesome

looks like a happy truck! Now you need to consider cutting off the factory recovery loops...

I like it. The lines and angles suit the FJC really well.

Someone posted the site yesterday on these. They have 3 versions with various amounts of protection etc. I just have a question, and that is how beefy is it? I liked the version that was similar to the ARB, but hell it was $$$ more than the ARB and shipping was like $300 !

The steel is all 3/16th's plate. However, I'm told that because of the geometry of the bumpers they are very strong. They make bumpers for several of the companies that do up-armoring for vehicles in Iraq. Because of this they actually do ballistic and blast testing on their bumpers.

I've been in their shop watching them make the bumpers. The plates are all CNC cut. They are then welded together. Once they grind them, they are inspected and any flaws in the weld are filled in. It is then either shipped, Turbo Lined, or sent out for powder coating. I was impressed with the workmanship of the bumpers they were turning out. The welds looked good and they seemed to have a high attention to detail.

God Almighty....that is the BEST BUMPER I have ever seen for the FJ. I checked their site for several years hoping for an 80 Series bumper...if they made one for the 80 Series, I would sell my ARB in a second.....Big Blue, you need to convince them to fab one for the 80 series

Did you pull off the company name from the top of the bumper. If so good work. Much better without it.

Does anyone know if the Powerplant Dual Force winch/air compressor will work with this bumper? Great looking rig Big Blue!

Do you know if the bumper will work with after-market skid plates installed? I have the "man it aint free" on mine. Also have a Warn xdi 9000, but I see in a previous post that a bracket could take care of that. I really like the look of the bumper.

Very nice looking bumper. Any idea of the weight?

That looks great!

What's that blue thing broken down behind you?

I kinda prefer the brush guard bumper. Looks great, plus I support any company that helped make the Transformers movie (lol).
