GOT TWO MORE GREEN/BLUE ONES IN, but once there are gone they're SOLD OUT, EXCEPT having a few chassis/motor for those of you who want one as a spare. LET ME KNOW!!

I have now sold out of the mustard yellow and the red ones so now only have two green/blue 40's left.

I can now send them to Canada for cheaper than before as the max. dimensions for slowboating is greater than that of the States'.

The express air costs to North America stand as before (listed below), but for the Canucks you can get it for $189!

This model has been discontinued now so once what I've got are gone, I won't be getting any more of them in!

Get one while you can!

[/UPDATE]

I don't know exactly how this "tag" thingy works...:D

Anyway, probably most of you who are looking at this thread already have seen the original one in "Chat":

Rc Fj/bj 40 - IH8MUD.com Forum

Please read the thread for details, but I'm offering a light-blue and mustard yellow, radio controlled FJ40 from Japan.

I'm asking $249US for the yellow/blue ones and $259 for the red one, including express shipping now (trackable/insured). [edit]Had to adj. according to the weak US$.[/edit]

It's actually 4WD and both the headlights and the tail lights light up. It comes with a 7.2v rechageable battery.

There is a red one available as well, but they no longer manufacture them, so when they're gone, they're gone (Am I sounding like a Marketing major?:D )

Anyway, I can accept PayPal or cashier's check/Money Order sent to my in-laws in Utah.

Let me know if I can answer any questions!

This would make a GREAT Christmas gift for you, I mean your kids, wife, or significant other, partner, etc... :hillbilly:

The red one (controller is the more traditional type):

As I said, this one is in limited quantity, so I was told.

This one supports 4WS (four-wheel steering), as well as 4WD.

If you want one, but want the BJ40, instead of FJ, then well.... you're out of luck! :hillbilly:

I need to confirm with the dealer, but I've just paid for eight of these trucks: four reds, three mustards, and one blue.

If all that have expressed serious interest and/or made payment come through three of the red ones, all three of the mustard yellows, and the blue one should be all spoken for already.

Of course I can order more, but I feel like I'm counting the chikens before the eggs hatch. So I shall see if everybody's check will show up. ;)

I'm waiting to hear back from the dealer if he can indeed order additional red ones or I might just have to be happy with the two he claims he has in the store.

Anyway, thanks for looking!

Good news!

The dealer confirmed with me that he could get the two additional 40's.

I'm having all of them (four reds, three yellows and one blue/green) sent at once and I should have them either by Monday, if not Tuesday.

Anyway, just an update.

Thx mot;
I'll keep an eye out for ur PM (or e-mail) to day on the required charges; then run to bank for a cashiers check.

...

Could you get them in a more stock look? Not a 1 foot lift and huge tires. How about around a 4inch lift with 33"s?

I've heard that you can fit the stock rims/tires from the r/c Supra. :D
Most of the 4x4/SUV r/c models I've seen, including the 100 and Prado have these big ass tires.

You wouldn't be able to resist modding them after owning a stock rig for awhile anyway. So you can actually thank them for lifting and stuff out of the box cuz they're saving you $$$. ;)

dfm,

I'll let you know when I get them in on Mon/Tue how big the box is, how much it weighs and if it could be sent via slowboat, etc.... so we can figure out the shipping cost, etc...

The dealer told me that the manufacturer told him that they only had 28 red ones left as of last night. I might have to order a few more red ones... maybe. :grinpimp:

THANKS!

Mot;)

Got them!

Well...thought some of you might like to know what came in today...

The only bad news is that I cannot send them with the slowboat if I left them in the original box. I "could" try to see if I can unbox it and re-pack in a different box, but I think most of you would want the original package as well.

Anyway, I'm going to go to the place I've had make some boxes in the past to see how much they would charge me for a sturdy box to send them in individually.

I'm not planning on charging you any extra for the box(es) though, since shipping via (express) air will not be cheap.

Stay tuned, and let me know if anybody else is interested, especially with the red.

Mot

[Edit]Took out the original price. See below [/EDIT]

I'll go to the box manufacturer tomorrow with one of the models/boxes and get the boxes ordered.

Stay tuned (some more)!

Mot

[BIG EDIT] After getting the boxes and the necessary package inserts were made and weighed, it became apparent that it was going to cost more to make the boxes and weigh more than originally planned, therefore costing more to send each unit (The red one weighs more than the yellow/blue ones, too). So I'm going to have to ask $234 for the yellow/blue ones and $244 for the red one.[/BIG EDIT] :crybaby:

Update:

I've just taken one of the r/c's to the box place to get the measurements.

They're getting back to me later on today to let me know of the different options, etc... If I place the order tomorrow they would be able to deliver on Monday, at the latest.

So I should be able to send them out on Tuesday and hopefully, some of you will have yours by the end of next week.

Thanks for your patience!

Mot

mmmm..a nice addition to my 2wd rc fj40. So, how much to ship to Vancouver, BC....Canada...eh?

Same [edit]$234(yellow/blue) and $244 (red)[/edit].... in the US currency. ;)

i think the hubcaps are the coolest part...

hey MOT you live in japan for a while now right? dont ya love it?? i was in okinawa four years and the stuff you find is amazing. are school pencil boxes still popular? i cant imagine what they would be doing with them now what with modern elctronics.

BTW i love how (your son?) is wearing the all too familiar rubber boots.

I wasn't sure when we were first moving (back) to Japan about seven years ago how I would like living here again. It's taken us some getting used to, especially for my wife, but we enjoy living here, for the most part.

The pencil boxes are still popular and my son was happy to wear and show off his $4 pair of new boots that day even though it was sunny! :D

I went and picked up the boxes this afternoon!

They told me that they had to put/make additional cardboard insert for the top part to assure the R/C's box integrity on the top part, so it ended up costing more and weighing heavier than I had anticipated. The final package will weigh almost 9kgs (19-ish lbs) for the yellow/blue 40 and over that for the red 40.

I do not (and will not) ask any of you to pay more than you already have and what I've told you. BUT what would help me out immensely is if anyone of you who have been contemplating the purchase would come forth and raise your hands so I can have at least ten vehicles going out at the same time (The post office here will give me a 10% discount if I get 10 or more). Or having a rich uncle would do me just fine, too. :hillbilly:

Anyway, as I said even if nobody else decides to purchase at this time, I will not ask you for additional funds. But I'm afraid that I would have to raise the price in the future. So if you've even remotely considered getting one, please do it while I'm offering them for this price!!!:crybaby: ;)

I'll try to post pics of the box/inserts and the final product tomorrow.
It's about 10:20pm on Mon. evening. I just got back from work a few minutes ago and I'm gonna be sleeping on the counch (again) if I don't hang out with my wife on her birthday evening (Haven't given her her present yet:eek: :D ;) ) Otherwise, I would box one tonight, take pics, and post them tonight.:D

THANKS!!
