If you have replaced your Toyota 4-wheel Drive emblem, then you may already have discovered that the clips are no longer available.

If you're lucky, your old ones are still good. I had temporarily used a bunch of washers, etc.

Well, this morning I found a near identical and perfect part that even looks like the OEM part (see below taken from SOR):

161-09-U
U RR CLIP-1958-12/78 USED -Availability subject to stock on hand-No return on Used Parts-Used Part NOT Available at this time-Listing for reference only-DO NOT ORDER

SOLUTION:

What I've found works well are the clips that are used to mount the motherboard (mainboard) to the computer's case are PERFECT. ALSO, they are available in metal or plastic. A computer store would likely give them to you. They come in bags full with most computer cases.

I used the metal type. I drill mine over, slightly. Voila! Perfect. They were very much like the originals and quite strong.

Hope this helps someone.

If I can't get clips, I just use silicon sealant to glue the emblems in place. Done that on many vehicles over the years.

The PO had done similar to my rig (the original emblem were put on with double sided adhesive/tape.) Trouble is that they are SUPPOSED to go on with the OEM Rubber gasket under them.

Also, if you decide to paint your rig, that's more junk to peel off/etc.

The clips are simply the way they came from Toyota, and not messy and allow you to put them on, and take them off with no fuss, no glue, just a 7mm socket.

Nice :) Broke on the 67 :crybaby: I'm sure they will on the 78 too.
