Tepui, Yep they are. Goodyear Wrangler MTR 265/75/R16 to be precise, and they are a great tyre. Have a look at the link to the movie file I posted in on of the other threads to see what they can handle.

It looks likek you ahve the plate under the bar fitted as ARB intended.
I've turned mine upside down and found no probs with overheating, but the main reason I did it ws to stop stuff getting to the rad.
It has certainly helped (hasn't stopped it all tho)
Seeing you pics on the other thread (the real muddy one) perhaps this is a good idea to reduce the amount of mud on the rad when doing this kind of driving.
Just a thought.

here are the part numbers for the insect (bug) screeen.
TOYOTA part numbers
old version (to 99 - without toyota badge in grill) 08711-60500-c. Cost - $82.90
new version (post 99 - with toyota badge in grill) pzq11-60050. Cost $90.75
ARB part numbers
Pre 00 - IS22. Cost $85
RV and GXL models post 00 - IS59. Cost $89

Points to note.
The local ARB shop does not recommend fittment of the bug screen to TD models due to increased engine and underbonnet temps. Mies a TD and I have had no probs to date after 4 years but I'm only going by 'heat on the face' method so it's not really technical and I change the coolant every 2 years. Engine temp reads just under 1/2 no matter what I do.
Toyota say it makes no difference (both the parts guys and the workshop guys)

those screeens are a 48% air flow blocker through the grille.
Standard car, standard tyre size unloaded ok, but run a TD, dtronic, bigger tyres, high ambient temps, keep an eye on the temp gauge, if you think the screen is worth having for some reason.

WOW 48% is a bloody lot of air to stop.
Mines on slightly bigger tyres (265/75 16's so not that much bigger) with no chip/dtronic/etc. Haven't been in what I'd call real hot places, but I've worked it pretty hard at times
I haven't really had to clean it toooo much in the past (the odd bug or three) so maybe it's just wank factor more than anything else.
If it's blocking that much air, then I guess it's blocking it from the intercooler too (TD).
I'm guna take it off and see what happens.
