Could you folks post some pics of your factory style tops? I would like to see od green and different shades of khaki that eshan offers. I am in on a current order and want a green top but now I am having second thoughts. My rig is a darker green and I am just not sure. Thanks, Bill

I have a very similar Green FJ40 and was planning on buying Eshan's Khaki (or Tan, I think they are calling it now) Softop. After seeing the above photo, I think I am going to pass on the purchase. It really is not bad, but it is not great either IMHO. The work that was involved in the installation was another factor. I figure, why spend @ $1000 with shipping and all, and then wait how many months (?) for shipping, and then have to spend all the install time and painting, and end up with a marginal looking color combo, etc. Of course, that is my opinion only, and I have heard nice compliments on the colors specifically, so please take no offense. I have a black vinyl bestop and I hated it's look on my truck too. I guess that I am looking for a perfect match, like that red cruiser with the soft top that keeps getting posted on the board. Wish there were more pictures of green cruisers with different tops to look at. I am planning on having my black bestop modified to look more like a Paki Top.

lets see a pic of your rig...then i can tell ya what would look good ;)

I have yet too see an OD green top from Eshan...BUT...he will have some made I bet :) he's really good like that :D

My top is OD#7 ...untreated mine would get much lighter...to almost a gray/green color...but would deteriate...Treated it will get a bit dirtyer (darker) over time.

OD#4 or #3 is a khaki color ...Khaki with a greenish hue...often called "pea green khaki" this is the original "khaki" although it was really OD. this M41 jacket is a good example of color:

Today Military uniform Khaki...is a tan

Mustard Tan ( on the trucks you see) (military treated Khaki):

this fades much lighter quicker if untreated...not recomended;)

I believe that Ehsan's tops are a mustard tan...and will probably fade to a lighter color over time.

the small pic below is in this order: Khaki, OD #3, OD#7

better to see pics and decide what u like before u plunk down your cash.
i think it gives it an old-timey kinda look...makes it seem a lot older than a 78.
works for me. :)

Thanks, JohnnyC. I am sure some others will chime in. I know you had posted some pics of yours but I can't find them as of yet.

JohnnyC, now THAT is a good looking top! If I thought mine would be as nice, I'd go for it.

I'll post a couple of picture, but I removed the seats and roll bar for painting black, etc, etc. Lots of dust on the finish also...

If you take an outside side shot at about the same angle as johnnymiz rig you can do a photochop on it to see what it would look like :)

JohnnyC,

What is the color of your rig?
