Sounds good, Seeing the color on the sheet metal is the hilight of the restoration! For some odd reason I'm leaning to BLUE Horizon Blue was an early 40 color, Might use an FJ CRUISER new color for my 25, If you have seen any of my cruisers, the paint color is not a blah color. (ie pastel) It is getting close to make a decision on paint color to determine if it will have OXBLOOD seats. John #3

Since painting the tailgates was successful as it was, I'm really getting tempted return this baby to its stock color. :rolleyes: So, I'm curious as to how the Dupont GS380 comes out on metal. Let us know . . .

Hmm, sure looks like it. Confirm by looking near your leaky steering box on the frame. Take a scraper to it and see what colors are under the oily dirt thats probably there. As soon as the frame is done, I'll be spraying that with the green.
 
No, the frame, rims and small parts is about it. I shot my race truck and it came out ok, but I dont trust myself to do this. I have a friend who has access to a paint booth and did body work for 10 years. I think he's going to be doing it.
 
Not sure if this helps but I picked up a '57, '58, '59, '60 import color chart off eBay

Dupont colors, might be Toyopet, might be FJ25. I have seen greyish green Fj25s and I have seen 2 different greens on the Fj25s...

Hey Fox, any updates on that color chart from 1959? The Daughter has picked an "eggshell" white type color and I was wondering if it shows anything like that on the chart. I remember the cream color on the frame I sent you, kinda matches the sheetmetal but I'm seeing more of an off-white...

LITP John-are your white rigs white white white or more of an off white tending towards a very light beige?

The first one I bought is white white white but that is a repaint. All the doors hinges of the three white ones I have are off white nothing like desert beige. I say egg shell white is close.

OK...I think I have a winner, twas right under my nose of course...these are the seats out of the 25HT I got from Poser, original covers, and only painted over where a roller and brush could reach:rolleyes:

The back panels are dirty and color seems to be altered a bit by age, you can see on the legs where it has aged to a more desert beige color. Under the cushions the paint is pretty pristine, I hope to get a good color match from this area and a polished area from the back....

This is about what you are seeing on yours, John?

Phil that seat color looks close. I would say it has a little grey more so than yellow. Jim should have an idea too if it's close. He has a set of back seats and skid plate out of one of my white ones. I remember the paint was in good shape for a match on the skid plate. That is unless all the grease I cleaned off of it yellowed it a bit:rolleyes:

Any pics of the apple green or Lyons green listed in Treeroot's post of paint colors?
Did toyota even use those colors, I see nissan listed for those colors, too.

I have been searching for the holy grail of Fj25 paint codes and haven't come up with it yet. Here is some cool info that lists 58, 59, 60, and 61. We will need to verify if any of these are Land Cruiser or not though.

Here are the earliest paint chips I have and this is also the only reference to T552 Grey. I would guess T-552 is 1964 and 65. It isn't mentioned in the 1967 stuff I have.

There are multiple Lilly Whites... I'll send you the Toyota Land Cruiser one. Also... If you want it FJ45LV red, that one might be Seminole Red.
