80& 100 COMPLETE sub tank system- UPDATED PRICING

08/13- hey all. just to be clear. I was only able to get a small number of tanks (14 total). i have emailed those for a deposit and now final payment. If people aren't able to clear up payments by this week i will move down the list. Thanks

For those still wanting tanks I will source some more. I have asked the same guys to find additional units but they said it will take awhile. I don't have a definite timeline but ill be happy to keep asking. Ill keep the list as it is.

08/09- Guys-- if you are over 1000 miles from 85716. please send an additional 20 for over 1000 miles and up to 1500 miles and $40.00 for over this amount (+1500 miles). Note this is anything past portland, OK city, Dallas. Its stated below there will be additional charges but they were not specified. I would have specified below but i didn't realize you guys would beat me to it. i am sending PMs to everyone this morning. Thanks

NOTE TO ALL: These are USED systems which are coming from half way around the world so there maybe some minor blemishes. The last few tanks i brought in were in great condition but please keep this in mind.

80 SERIES TANKS- will include transfer pump, tank, straps, dual filler, overhead console, dash switch, 8mm rivnuts and bolts to mount- $760.00--- diesel units do NOT have transfer pump.

100 SERIES TANKS- will include tank, straps, dual filler, dash switch, internal tank pump.. 100s did not have the console.- $760.00

PLEASE NOTE: AS PER DCLEE "98-02 U.S.-spec 100s do not have the charcoal canister back there, and you can add a sub tank without problems." Later year 100s have the cannister in the back so you guys would need to figure a work around or how to move forward. It looks like for the 100 series it will be best to use the internal pump, georges controller and send fuel to the main tank as in the 80's install. please see this link

http://www.expeditionportal.com/forum/threads/37741-100-series-factory-Aux-tank

Guys please do your research on this install. Ive never done one and want to make sure you know what your in for. Thanks

prices include shipping within 1000 miles. of 85716. Can ship outside this range but price will be adjusted. Should be no more than $40.00 additional. I reserve the right to nicely cut the 100 series filler in the event it is way to cumbersome to ship domestically unless guys wants to pay for the added shipping.

PLEASE NOTE: some fillers will be diesel. The names on the top of the list will get the gas units unless they opt for the diesel. I think this is most equitable.

I can't give EXACT ship dates but I should be able to ship from OZ by mid next week and then it will take 4 weeks for delivery by boat. Figure another week to break down and deliver to you. Please keep in mind there are sometimes delays beyond anyone's control. Im going to ask for a $200 deposit once you confirm. The balance needs to be paid before shipping or if your picking up upon receipt. Thanks

I will send everyone a PM and if i don't hear back within 2 days ill move down the list. Here is a pic of the other tanks i brought in. note the hose barb T is not included.

here are pics of the dual filler for the 100 series.

tanks

so i should have at least 4 available. i haven't seen everything but ive asked them to include the tank, straps, dual filler, transfer pump, overhead gauge pod, and possibly the wirng:grinpimp: which would make the install EASY! please keep in mind they are used and some fillers will be for diesel. would need to replace the restrictor.

once everything is set i will set pricing and we will get a list going.

that's a really good price. really good. especially if it's complete since the parts are just about impossible to find over here.

we just installed a complete setup ( pieced together from all over the place ) in a customers rig. the job is "challenging" and not for the faint of heart. you'd better be comfortable around electrical diagrams because it's not plug-and-play.
but it's a neat setup and works well.

let me know how much a 100-series setup would run. I may want to put it in my rig.

i'll pm you as well.

One item which Georg discovered is that the 1996 LX450 does NOT have the OEM plugs and wiring for the subtank system. I suspect that this applies to all LX450's, thus Lexus owners would need to fabricate a separate loom to make the wiring-side of things work factory-style.

The Land Cruiser FZJ80 is much more straightforward as most (not all) of the wiring is in the US wiring loom.

El Mariachi's writeup documents the install, which as said, is NOT for the faint at heart or wiring-challenged. https://forum.ih8mud.com/80-series-tech/213266-oem-subtank-retrofit-install-project-pics.html

That said, I love pushing a button to "fill" my tank while cruising down the highway. $750 is an outright steal if everything is included.

Wiring doesn't scare me at all but not having the basics to work with majorly sucks. I need to read thru that whole novel of a mod. I'd love to get rid of my gas cans.

Just picked up a 96 LC and this is going to be my first mod. I'm in at those prices. Let me know when you want to take my money!

Additional info.

i haven't finalized everything because others have asked for additional parts. :D... If everything goes through it would take another week to finalize and then 4 weeks for the slow boat from OZ. Parts would ship from AZ.

Regarding the install. I have done one myself and you should take a look at George's site and El mariachi. They both documented their installs well. George sells the chips to control the subtank. If you follow their threads there isn't anything that is terribly difficult. My two biggest issues were the rivnuts for the straps because i refused to buy a tool and getting the non-flexible filler hose onto the tank with just one person. I honestly don't think the electrical stuff is that difficult and i didn't use a diagram. If you want to tie into the harness you obviously will need it.

1hd-fte

They also have a low mile 2007 ihd-fte if anyone is interested... probably be 10K with all expenses.

100 series tanks

Going to check on 100 series tanks for those who actually wheel theirs.:D
Let me know if there is interest... i think pricing would be similar.

I did not want to deal with the stock wiring and instead just put the tank in, with a self priming transfer pump. I used the stock wiring of the tank to drive a buzzer that can be switched off, which tells me when the tank has been emptied fully.
Very easy and very effective.
I am lacking the fancy console, but that was not important for me.
cheers,

im not sure about the CA smog. I don't see how these would affect anything exhaust related but Im not an expert on the laws there. You will have to check on local laws and install at your own risk. Man-a-Fre and SOR sell OEM tanks when they have them and non OEM tanks also.

When installed the subtank is only noticeable to some one that knows these trucks well. This is not to suggest trying to skirt any rules. The diligence is on anyone installing these into their trucks. I've been running one in AZ for a few years and never had any trouble with emissions or local laws here.
