I ran some trails Friday with 1st gen that had 1" taken off the bottom of the housing and was wondering if it's possible to do to the 80 housings.
I do realize anything is relatively possible.
But is there enough room below the ring gear to give the 80 housing a flat bottom?

No head job no valve job.
Just got the timing chain cover gasket repair done and no more leaks that I see.... yet. Still burn a quart every 2k it seems though.
1 put a14mil short well socket on the a/c tensioner, loosen.
2 with an extension and 12mil go through the access hole in skid plate. Removal unnecessary.
3 remove belt.
4 loosen lower bolt on alt (above idler) 97-12mil and short extension.
5 loosen 14mil (deep well) on top of alt.
6 loosen...
