gudday there fellow 4wd enthusiasts. I am new to the 4wd scene after purchasing a 1980 Toyota Landcruiser HJ47 arkana. I came to own this rig purely by chance, when a friend of mine rung me to inspect a Landcruiser on his behalf, in a town nearer me than him, I agreed to give it a look over. After meeting the owner and inspecting the vehicle I knew this rig was something special. It had the 2h motor and had been turbo charged with snorkel, it had a long range fuel tank, two overhead consoles, stainless steel tanks for water, dual spare wheel carrier, 33' wheels, 2' lift with heavy duty springs and has also had what looks like an inch body lift on chasis, dual alternators, bucket seats and much more. I was obliged to inform my friend that this rig was in quite good condition, well appointed and very rare (I certainly had never seen one, this particular rig is a 3 door wagon with the extra door on the passenger side ) and he would have rocks in his head if he didn't buy it (certainly the price was very reasonable).. luckily for me his finances fell through and I snaffled it. Since purchasing the vehicle, I have installed a 200w solar system with two dedicated batteries (the rig has 3 altogether) also I have completely renewed the brakes including new drums, shoes and wheel cylinders in the rear, and a disc brake conversion in the front (new rotors and pads with fully reco'd calipers in the front as well as a reco'd master cylinder.
