Can you isolate how high up the fluid is leaking from? You may have a breather on the tranny (at the top) that leaks fluid on steep inclines and esp. declines. Reach up and see how far up the fluid is leaking from. Agree with the rest, check the T-case too. Gear oil isn't that bad.. till you...

Musta hit myself in the head with the Hi Lift. I didn't consider marauding junk buzzards flying in and stripping Fj 40's to the bones. Guess I'll just keep schleping arround alleys for busted down cruisers until I find my salvage yard utopia. thanks anyway RocDoc

Any one have a resource or a thread that would list junkyards by name or place that have Fj40 parts? I have done a forum search and can't come up with anything. Am I missing the obvious? I have walked the yellow pages and have found most yards don't keep anything older than 1990 at least...
