I used the same product. I will note, after filling pretty extensively with the crack filler, I am getting some of the larger cracks starting to come back through. Still WAAAAY better than before, but this isn't magic.

No clue. I did have some adhesion issues because I think I left too much residual leather protector behind. Next time I would have got a scrub brush and really went to town on them. I just added two more coats of “top coat” which I was told by seatdoctor would be overkill. But over doing things...

ill let the pros chime in. But from what I’ve been reading, seems most recommend replacing the whole unit given criticality of its function as well as other parts going bad after single pieces are changed out. Again, just from my limited reading on the issue.
