My dad knew a lot about car mechanics. He raced hot rods and loved working on our own cars later. Every time I went out to ask him if I could help--because I wanted to learn something about cars, too, he'd say: "Nah son, thanks for asking. Why don't you go back inside and study some more." Consequently? I kept studying and got my Ph.D and became a university professor. Consequently, for sure, I learned nothing about cars. So now that I'm retired, I get my chance.
