I live in Erie, Pa, about 2 hours away from Pittsburgh, Cleveland and Buffalo. Does anyone know of a good repair shop in my area that has experience with 80 series? I used to have room to work on mine ('95, 177k) but I don't like working under a tree if I can help it and I don't really have...
Good to know, I remember reading somewhere that they were no longer available. I already have the U-Joints so I'll swap them and see what happens but I'll definitely go that route if it needs replaced.
Will do, I'm going to put the front one back in once the joints are swapped and see if it goes away. Then I'll just put the rear one back in with new joints and fresh grease on the splines and see what happens. It's more likely that they never got greased by the PO than an angle issue.
Good to know, I'll replace both u joints and put it back in. I can't see the movement but can feel/ hear it, it's not sloppy. I just assumed it would need to be a really close fit.
I have a 95 with 177000 miles. Previous owner had all of the goodies installed, ARB bumpers front and rear, Warn 12k winch, Slee sliders, OME 2.5" lift, 33" Goodyears. I've had it for about 2 years now, fixed many things neglected by the PO and am now working on u joints for the driveshafts...
Thanks, it looks like that goes on the back next to the fuel filler pipe, I'm looking for the guard that goes in the front driver wheel well that protects the fuel lines. Unless it's the same part number and used in both places? Basically just a flap of plastic with a few holes in it.
Does anyone know the part number for the plastic guard/ shroud at the back of the front driver wheel well that covers the fuel lines? I lost mine and my new fuel lines are taking a beating.
I live in Erie, Pa and my gas tank / straps, skid plate as well as the rear brake backing plates are rusting out on me. I’m expecting to have to ship so southern and western parts are fine. I’m also looking for a passenger side louver cover from a quarter slide window.
Good idea but I just tried and they don't seem to have any buses going to this part of CA anytime soon. I'll definitely keep it in mind for the future though, thanks.
I'm hoping to buy a replacement fuel inlet pipe/fuel filler pipe but shipping it intact across the country is cost prohibitive. I've asked the seller to cut it down and if he's able to I would like to know where the best place is since I won't be cutting the frame or lifting the body to install...
Longtime listener, first time caller. I bought my 95 LC last month and have been getting it up to speed since then. After picking around the underside I found the fuel filler pipe was rather rusty and had some holes (explains the smell when I fill up). I'm in Erie, PA and it came from...
