Yes they come on with the key fob unlock but for handful of seconds---I think 7.5. There is a setting in the system that allows you to move this to at least 15 seconds. Then of course there is the over ride switch in left bank for use while camping etc..
Happy to report my project is done! Here is the summary so the next guy can benefit.
1. Rock lights were initially installed tapping into the foot-well light (by the brake pedal) as the trigger. This was fine while the car was off--it operated, and brightened and dimmed with the interior...
@Eric Sarjeant I'm still trying to get this right and you are The 200 Guru as far as I'm concerned. My rocklights are still tapped in the footwell light--I didn't mess with the original install done by your installers. The issue is the footwell lights are always on when the ignition is on---so...
When your ignition is on are you lights by the brake pedal on----if they are, I suspect your lights under the hood are also on even if you don't realize it? I've been trying to get mine right. The problem with tapping into the light in the footwell is it's always on when the ignition is on. So...
NikP---18 months later I finally got around to figuring this out. The always on stems from the fact that the terminal 4 blue wire is tapped into the footwell light, which on the 2020 land cruiser appears to be always on when the engine is on. Which is ridiculous--doesn't seem like it should...
I am really torn whether to even bother. Mine looks pretty good pushed back together and I've read that the fitment of the amazon replacement is good but still not perfect (like 90%) but still noticeable- Could you post a couple pics of the finished product and/or what's the 90/10% ---what's...
I got the part off of Amazon about 6 months ago and am going to attempt this this weekend (I think). Could you provide a rough estimate of total time? I'm pretty handy taking s*** apart and putting it back together----I just want to know how long I could be without a truck. Also if you know...
I just wish the pockets were like 2x to 3x as deep. You should check out the silicon cupholder insert. Way better than the 3D printed option imo (I bought the Cd thing and returned it). I also have an LX which the wife drives. I offered to get her the console cover but she passed---maybe she...
I rolled the dice on this:

Gotcha---thank you. Now I'm debating whether to just buy the Hamilton car play unit since I'm doing most of the work anyway. That would take this upgrade from "under $100" to like $800.
WHat's the best Noco unit that people are using. I am getting ready to redo my batterys in both a 2017 LX570 and a 2020 LC200 HE, potential adding 2nd, larger 31s or both. But I want a Noco to figure out what I am working with on the existing batteries. Any help appreciated.--Miles
Maybe yours went bad because you said so many bad things about it. I bet if I talk nice about mine it will treat me well. About 88k miles now. I’ll check in at 150k which, with the way my wife drives, will probably be late summer.
