CaptHamster I have an import HJ61 here in OZ when I start the old girl the tranny temp light comes on and stays on till I give her a rev. The regulator then cuts in and tranny light goes out. Just a guess here but 4000 revs could cause the alternator belt to slip (lights come on) you may not...

Thanks Tony If the tcase from my auto is gunna fit I will keep the Vac system. will the donor vehicle have the oiler cup you and Phil mentioned need to google the oiler cup not sure what it is or does thanks for the feed back Laurie

Thanks Phil I guess if I swap to stick shift transfer and do away with the vacuum change I would need some feedback as to any mods I need to make to wiring and or Vac lines.

Hi Guys I have spent a few hours reading posts and can't seem to answer the following. I have a 1988 HJ61 VX 12HT auto and after 4 rebuilds of the tranny have decided to go manual H55f. Apparently in Australia HJ60's came out with H55f after 1982. I can get a rusted 1983 HJ60 for $500AUS...

thanks 2mbb only problem with the diagram is it does not show lines for power steering and Aircon and I just noticed image I got from toyodiy does not show lines for Aircon metro

G'day Pathfinder_88 I had the same problem of one battery going flat for over a year. I was drawing off one battery for immobiliser power, have now added a 24/12 converter and take the power from there. BUT too late as far as damage to the battery. Dropped one cell .... if your problem persists...

Hi Guys Just got my HJ61 back after an engine re-build, the shop that did the work has got the vacuum lines wrong and I'm not getting an increase in idle when the aircon is turned on. Would anybody here have a diagram I can work with to figure this out. thanks in advance metro
