Eagle Scout originally from St. Paul Minnesota. Grew up in San Antonio Texas and spent my summers in Oxnard California. I come from a military family San Antonio being a military city. My dad was stationed at Lackland Air Force Base and passed away when I was 3 years old. I have one younger brother a year and a half age difference (Liver King) and my mother raised us, never remarried. Went to community college for 6 years pursuing a Graphic Arts degree and pretty much went nowhere in life after graduating High School. Finally got my ish together and got a degree in Computer Aided Drafting & Design with Applied Science Associates Degree. Worked as a Landscape Architect for a few years in Borne Texas as well as designed flare stacks for an oil company in San Antonio. After that I owned and operated a Tattoo parlor for a couple years. In 2008 I pursued a Human Services degree at Houston Community College but fell short an Anatomy & Physiology course. More than anything I learned about other people and myself. I've always been a painter of abstract art and have sold numerous pieces at First Friday Blue Star Art Gallery in San Antonio Texas. In 2012 I started obsessing with my truck (FJ62). It's been in the family since I was a kid and have gone on ski trips in it twice a year, every Spring Breaks & Christmas. I've dumped close to $100,000 into this truck for it is the pride and joy of my life. Nothing makes me feel more alive than she does period. So I started little trips to State Parks in the surrounding areas of Houston. Trial and error deals of what I needed and what I didn't need for a long haul. And did this for about 2 years while working for my brother's dentistry (Dentiq) in Houston. 2014 rolled around and I just up & left everything. At the time I was working for a friend as a barista at his family's coffee shop. It was a matter of time before I took off and ultimately hit the road. Lived out of my truck for 3 years (Pacific Grove, CA) as you can see in the blog I had. A major lawsuit (over my truck) in Seaside California caused everything to come to a halt and I felt my spirit and journey had been broken. I taught snowboard at Mt. Shasta & moved to South Lake Tahoe Keys and then suddenly moved to Mt. Charleston Nevada and taught snowboarding at Lee Canyon 3 seasons 2 of them supervising ski school. About 2 years ago Christmas day I was pulling a table back pedaling at work and slipped on a patch of ice tearing my Labrum in my right shoulder. Workman's comp picked everything up but my career at Lee Canyon was over. I was pretty much kicked to the curb and thrown out like a piece of trash. At this point I had to make a move being my heart belongs in the ski industry and why not a better place than Colorado where I grew up skiing (Purgatory & Wolf Creek). Now I live in Leadville Colorado and work at Loveland Ski Resort. My short term goal is to teach snowboarding but long term I'd love to collaborate with other adventure TRUCK enthusiast to combine out of control campsites and camp atmospheres. I have ideas that will blow people's minds and would love to mesh with other individuals that may be interested in doing the same.
Thanks and I hope you enjoyed my NOT short story lol
