I'm doing a full rebuild on my '72 front drum axle. I now have fj60 knuckles and "short" birfs in. I had to do some grinding to widen the opening on the ball housing enough to get the larger than stock birfs inside. Everything was perfectly clean and refurbished when assembling.

Doing a 2F swap and getting rid of my F engine and 3 speed out of a '72 FJ40. Unsure of exact mileage, odometer read 89k miles when I purchased the vehicle in may. Driven sparingly since then, but always started up just fine and ran without hiccups. Clutch recently replaced.

Mmmm I think I'm starting to understand! I'll have to do some measuring, or let the machine shop do it, and see where the cc's would be at with the 61030 or 61031 to achieve a 7.8:1 CR. Thanks for the patience
