I went with Dove Blue from VW. It's seems pretty close-ish and the wife approved.

Sorry I didn’t realize I never responded to this olas thread. I could actually see the burn out part of the circuit behind the new wire in the picture so I knew that it was broken. Further testing with a multimeter showed that there was no continuity.

That was my option B if the gauge cluster thing didn’t work. Thanks.

Looking for the VSS reed switch assembly that sites behind the speedometer, Of the 3 gauge clusters I own, none have it and apparently it's needed for my 3fe swap. See photo which I found in one of the VSS threads. Thanks! Lars
