OK so there called a diaphragm on a early model Toyota ?. didn't know that this is my first Toyota fj40 I've always had Chevy's . so what should the dwell meter show at high RPM ?
Just wondering if someone can help . got a 72 fj40 f motor run's smooth at ideal and good though the gears but when I'm at a steady 40 or low speed in 3rd she pops out the carb. I Checked the timing and rebuilt the carb just wondering if it's the distributor or points .
Find the problem it seems the distributor had back out just enough to not turn the oil pump because I had adjusted it earlier that wk and did not tighten the bolt back. lesson learned! appreciate all that helped.
SO I got a new header to go on my FJ took the manifold Off put some extended lines for the oil filter Bolted everything together crank it up no oil pressure not real sure why so i took it all off and found one of the line's was stopped cleaned it out installed everything again and still no...
Yeah I got a 250 chevy for $100. From a buddy he pulled it out a 70some truck so I thought why not the parts are cheaper and easy to find . I mit later drop a V8 in. hey I got the old block I need to get rid of if anyones interested. The head is cracked.
got a 250 chevy . wondering if anyone got some advice on if it will bolt up to the 3 speed trans in a 1972 fj40. or if the bolt pattern is the same as a v8. i found a bellhousing kit from marks4wd but its for a v8 to a 4 speed. thanks
