Great to see all the history.. and I am in a similar situation as to weld or block the holes for future use. Pulled the roof liner out and fortunately no rust inside but there is some rust and pitting on top. Any updates whats the best options will be of great help..

Looking to buy a 97 LC auto with 1hdft from a car yard. The car has 475k kms on it. Has some minor issues on one rust spot on rear roof channel. Other than that body is all looking good. Battery was dead so had to jump start. Took a while to start and after a few pushes on the fuel filter...
