Bit more the a weekend job, but now have a fully rebuilt 1VD, all new internals, plus a couple of upgraded high flow turbos and an EGR delete. Ready for a tune once I've run it in😁 Should do me another 400k km👀

Well that escalated..!:rolleyes: Long story short, RH turbo let go a shaft , on inspection, both turbos were showing heavy wear from 'dusting' and had compression drop in some of the cylinders. Much deliberating later we bit the bullet and had a completely rebuilt engine (all new genuine...

Couple of weeks ago now but new Air-Box and 4" Snorkel fitted up, very tidy kit from local supplier..

Trundles matching 4" Snorkel fitted, again very simple install, everything supplied and fitted up easily..

Trundles Air-Box fitted up, some slight trimming on the inner guard, templates supplied, and all bolted up, very simple install..

I've got an 08 and a 12, I really couldn't tell the difference, they are both a bit 'clunky' at lower speed but I find them fine on the open road. In saying that I don't know any different so I may have got used to them. Will be interesting the difference when I get around to the lockup.

No No not yet , a lockup is on the list though!

Decisions have been made... Trundles fabricated SS snorkel and airbox Torqit 3" Turbo back SS exhaust with 4" dump. 😁😁 Will be New Year before they arrive...

Yes it has KDSS, it is what we call 'Limited' spec here, so gets KDSS, nicer wheels factory, fridge inside ect. The later models got the sun roof and rear screens for the kids..

Flares , yes we need them over here. Plus they keep things a bit tidier.. There's a couple of local options that are quite nice, SS not plastic. Haven't decided yet. Wellington, hmmmm, the city slickers stick to their Tesla's 🤣🤣 come further south and you will see a few more, they are out there..

And that's us for now. Plan next is Snorkel, Airbox, Exhaust and then I have a bunch of lighting to wire up, spots, light bar ect. and a decent winch. then onto a mini-kitchen in the rear I'm thinking.. 😁😁

Speedo correction unit wired in , bit of drama with the installation manual showing the wiring back to front, but we got it, now very close to dash speed.
