I’ve tried disconnecting it and it DOES stall out.
I think the timing is still advanced too much. I noticed it knocking pretty bad this weekend. It’s odd because it doesn’t always knock, but it was pretty consistent this weekend.
I feel like it’s always something - I’m just going to start...
I just realized that I never updated my situation on this thread.
I replaced the manifold gaskets, bolts, studs, nuts and vacuum lines. Had the manifolds resurfaced. I pulled the “non essentials” from the engine, but kept the HAC and rerouted vacuum lines with new set-up. I did not recurve...
Quick update on this.
I removed the manifolds; had them resurfaced; used new rings and springs and new gaskets all around. I also used a remflex gasket for the manifold to head joint. I took the advice from the experts on this forum and replaced all studs, nuts and bolts with OEM and Nickel...
I did it - after reading all about everyone’s experience and advice on replacing the exhaust manifold gasket, I took to it yesterday morning, and pulled everything off.
I was truly blessed that there were no broken bolts.
The manifolds appear to be straight but there seems to be some gasket...
Okay - all valid points...Thx. I’ll pickup a container of that stuff and order OEM hardware which appears to still be available. Save some money as well - I’m sure.
