Thanks, I hear K&H is pretty good - was hoping for someone closer but that may be my best option.

Anyone know of a mechanic in South Bay (south of LAX) for FJ40? Guy in Gardena passed away a couple of years ago. Thx

FJ40 Clutch Slave Cylinder Hose Replacement

Online site called "Parts Geek, LLC" - discontinued any purchases from CCOT due to price gouging. There are a number of sites, including SOR (Spectrum Off Road) that have the OEM equivalent hose.

FJ40 Clutch Slave Cylinder Hose Replacement

As long as it seals, should be good to go. The surface of the slave is milled flat to accept the seal washer, so intended that the threaded portion be shorter than the port threading. Up to you to use. Just keep a 17mm wrench in the car :)

Took mine off today replacing the slave cylinder. The end onto the cylinder is non flared and seals with a copper washer.

    Blower Resistor - late FJ40 Nippondenso a/c

It is difficult to say whether the fan speed is precisely as spec'd by Toyota, but it seems to be perfect for me. I am missing my old Simpson, but a digital ohmmeter gave me about 1.3 and 1.5 ohms each, which I took to be close enough for govt work.

    Blower Resistor - late FJ40 Nippondenso a/c

Russ, FYI in the future, used 7" and 8" nichrome wire, 24 ga, wrapped about 3/8" diam, soldered to posts on old blower resistor block and works like a charm! Thanks again for your help - John

    Blower Resistor - late FJ40 Nippondenso a/c

Do you need to modify the hole in the back of the evaporator housing? The resistance is the same? Thanks Roadstr6!

    Blower Resistor - late FJ40 Nippondenso a/c

Awesome! Really appreciate the extra help - I did not have much luck with the Toyota part No. but the ND part no. may give me some of the specs. I ordered the replacement resistor wire so I can make my own - maybe a future cottage industry . . .
