While You’re At It: Front brakes

I bought this cruiser exactly one year ago over LDW. I immediately took it to Dajda’s “Texas Cruiser Man” and said “fix everything”. They tackled the knuckles which were obviously bad. They said the brakes were fine. Now that I’ve spent a year doing most of my repairs I would have known to...

While You’re At It: Front brakes

I’ve been piecemealing parts all day. New caliper bolts, banjo and crush washers, shims, pins; anti rattle, hose clamp thingy, hub gasket, lock washer, etc. Now, is there really such a thing as a one-man bleeder kit. I’m scarred from sitting in the old Oldsmobile Delta 88 trying to stand...

Partsouq is a great and cheap source of OEM parts. Don’t order single items or shipping will suck. Make a list. Buy multiple parts and shipping evens out

While You’re At It: Front brakes

This LDW I’ll have time to wrench so I ordered front OEM rotors and pads. What do you normally do while you’re at it? Paint the caliper? Replace the caliper? Flexible brake lines? Purge, replace & bleed fluid? FYI. Brakes operate fine. No leaks, but this is part of my systematic...

Cruise control dies when turn signal used

Welcome to 2025. Took my 97 FZJ80 from Dallas to Houston this weekend. Everything worked great except when running on CC, a right turn signal would deactivate cruise. Facts: 1. I have LED bulbs and aware this is a potential issue 2. Only happens when activating the RIGHT signal. The left...

Steering Shaft seal fix... the Lazy way

And for the record, I’ve had zero banging or rattles from the steering shaft or any hot gases or exhaust. The SolveFunction hole filler has not backed out and I’m 100% fixed on this issue since original install.

    Simultaneous P0125 & P0135

And she’s fixed (pending). The upstream Denso o2 sensor had some residual plastic “nib” on the part that clips the two pieces together. You could shove them together and feel a “click” but a gentle tug and they popped apart. Quick swipe with a scalpel and I now have solid lockup. Let’s...

    Simultaneous P0125 & P0135

Had two new codes throw several times today…a P0125 (insufficient coolant temperature for Closed Loop Fuel Control) and P0135 (o2 heater circuit bank sensor 1). I replaced both the up and down stream O2 sensors in July with Denso units, and that cleared those codes. I did a blue fan clutch...

    Quality aftermarket alarm suggestions

I have the Viper system that allows me to remote start and lock/unlock. I just added the GPS/app module that extends range and lets me remotely access the vehicle. Works perfectly in my 97 FZJhttps://a.co/d/3eLDATl
