Yea, from what ive found a 4l80 requires a 1300$ adapter. A 6l80 requires a 700$ adapter. Was hoping someone would know the budget options. I cant get the toyota A440 that i have to the motor so im shopping the tranny too.... but def a little price tag aggrivated.....
I got an 02 5.7 chevy motor im trying to put into my 91 fj80. Caninget that motor to connect to toyota a440 trans? And what adapter do I need? Does it exist? How much$ ? Or what tranny can i get that matches the gearbox with out a 1300$ adapter? Thanks
91 fj80 3FE motor comming out. Ive got access to the motor mounts, when i remove the bolts from the trans bracket everything ( motor, transmission, transfer case, drive shafts) moves. So its time to hoooker up and need to know if is easier to remove intake or if i can do it like this( pics)
Its funny about bmw’s, i got the money to buy this project because i bought a 98 m3 from some kid who was told by a “European car repair shop” that it needed a new head gasket. It ran and drove but over heated and was clean inside, 130k but had auto trans. Scooped it for 1200$ spent 15 lazy...
ive got to say, this was good. Its fun to let your imagination run, but after hearing the inputs from other owners and coming back to the world where i dont have a fully equipped mechanic shop, or unlimited funds or corporate sponsorships.
