Got the blank key and remote in yesterday - it ended up working out! I think you were right, original key i had received must have been a Toyota Key. Thanks!!

That's what I am thinking. I am going to try a more reputable source of key fobs and see what happens to see if they register, if not, i may leave it for Lexus to figure out.

Bumping this thread. What does the 2-1 indicate when the key is in? I think im stuck in registration mode (Solid immobilizer) - Blinks 2-2 for my valet key which starts it. It blinks 2-1 for my cheap ebay key. Im guessing it just does not want to register? Any tips or tricks for...

I am finishing swapping my entire under-dash harness in my 1997 40th series. I am stuck trying to figure out these drivers side kick panel plugs - why would Toyota make several plugs in the same location all match!??! Anyway, this one comes off of the chassis harness riding along the floor...

This is connecting to the positive terminal. Previous owner had a 30 amp fuse lined inbetween thisnand the battery and a flat blade connector siliconed in. If so where can I get a replacement connector (junkyard is my guess? Previous owner fxxxed with interior wiring so much I'm getting ready...
