Gap below the hinges was the fun game of making a 79 and later RHD non-US tub mate to a 78 and earlier 4-door Aqualu. Later tubs had significantly more overlap to clamp, which is why you see it. The cowl was sandblasted prior to mating the two.

Pop the bolts and cut the welds. I always leave about a quarter inch and then grind the rest. It's pretty self explanatory. I'd highly recommend measuring your door openings before seperation, I've seen a lot of aqualus have poor door fitment because they were not attached parallel and true to...

No. Just a ring cut and bead rolled. I did a bunch of them. You could also get away with hammer-forming them, but it's a lot more work.

Upholstery shops can usually quickly, and reletively cheaply, make them if you bring in a shifter ring. I'd recomend that route.

I pulled the ole 2LT from my 70 for a swap, is it even worth trying to get rid of or worth much in parts? If so, what would you think fair value would be? It's definitely low compression but I have ran it. About 190k miles, from a '92. Fully dressed, 100% complete with harness. Thanks!

Western colorado university has a great partnership with CU and is in a wayyyyy better spot to ski bum and wheel. Ask me how I know lol.
