Gday just curious if anyone can tell me if the speedo sleeve in my 1984 bj42 is supposed to have an internal or ring near the plastic gear? It has a groove as if there is supposed to be one but to my knowledge nothing has been done to it for 30 years. Cheers Damian

Gday I'm trying to pull out just my speedo sleeve to check on the plastic gear. If I undo the bolt which holds the locking plate into the groove on the sleeve, should the entire sleeve then just pull out or do I need to more? I didn't want to force it and do any damage. cheers

Hi any chance you could tell me how to get the plastic gear out of the transfer case I tried removing a few bolts but it didn't wanna slide out easily is there a trick to it or do I just need a little more force?

Cheers 3 puppies. I have already done that and the cable itself is fine. I checked the length and it is 2450 mm long which is standard for the rh bj42. I'm beginning to think that it is the gear in the transfer case. Everything I read is point in to that anyone ever come across problems with it...
